SQ5 — Stage 1 ECU & TCU Tune
- +100Nm mid-range torque increase
- +32kW at the wheels
- Smoother drive programs
- Optimal RPM range gear holding
- Reduced under- and over-shifting
- More responsive and engaging drive
The 2019 SQ5 responds well to a software-only approach. This Stage 1 file brings the AWD wagon from 170 kW to 188 kW at the wheels, with torque climbing from 390 Nm to 475 Nm. The factory 8-speed transmission gets a matching TCU revision to handle the new load and sharpen shift behaviour under throttle.
No hardware changes required. The result is a noticeable improvement in mid-range punch and overtaking response without compromising driveability or everyday refinement. Well-suited to highway touring and family hauling with a bit more urgency when needed.
Does the TCU tune change shift points or just torque limits?
Both. The TCU revision adjusts shift mapping for better response and raises torque limits to accommodate the 475 Nm output from the ECU tune.
Is this still suitable for towing and daily driving?
Yes. The tune maintains factory driveability and reliability parameters, just with more accessible torque through the mid-range. No issues for regular towing or commuting duties.
What fuel does this file require?
