CJG Q7 Stage 1 with TCU refinement and timing unlock

The CJG in the 2011 Q7 is known for conservative factory calibration, especially around torque limitation in the mid-range. This Stage 1 file addresses that directly, working through boost control, solenoid duty cycles, high-pressure fuel pump mapping, and injector timing to lift torque from 870 Nm to 885 Nm, with power edging up from 240 to 242 kW at the wheels.

The real story here is the TCU calibration. Torque limiters in the gearbox file often choke response in these heavy SUVs, so we've lifted shift pressure, revised torque request tables, and smoothed out lock-up behaviour under load. The result is a cleaner, more responsive delivery without asking the hardware to do anything it wasn't already capable of.

Software only. No supporting mods required, though we've seen a few workshops pair this with a proper intercooler clean or replacement when the factory unit is heat-soaked from towing duty.

Common questions
Why is the power gain only 2 kW when torque goes up 15 Nm?

The CJG hits its torque ceiling early and holds it flat through the mid-range. Most of the calibration work is about maintaining that curve without spiking EGT or upsetting the DPF strategy, so peak power doesn't shift much. The torque gain is where you'll feel it on the road.

Does the TCU tune affect reliability or shift quality?

We've lifted torque limiters and revised shift pressure within factory hardware tolerances. No clutch pack changes are needed at this output level. Shift quality typically improves because the box isn't hunting or slipping under part-throttle load.

Can this file be used with a DPF delete?

The calibration as supplied retains all factory emissions hardware and strategies. If the vehicle is being prepared for off-road or competition use where emissions equipment has been removed, contact us for a revised file.
