S3 — Stage 2 ECU & TCU Tune
- Boost curve optimization targeting 1.8 bar peak pressure
- Brake boosting and thermal management integration
- Enhanced launch control with increased torque delivery
- Sharpened transmission gear changes and clutch pack intensification
- Impulse ignition for improved sports mode responsiveness
- Torque limit calibration synchronized with engine output
This 2017 S3 arrived with intake, downpipe, high-pressure fuel pump work, and a wastegate solenoid already fitted. The owner wanted both ECU and TCU calibration for track use, with boost set to 1.8 bar and power delivery matched to the gearbox mapping.
The dyno recorded 199 kW at the wheels with 551 Nm, up 28 kW and 150 Nm over the factory FWD baseline. The TCU file includes shift pressure, torque limiter and timing adjustments to handle the extra load without clunky part-throttle behaviour.
Suited to closed-circuit and off-road competition use where traction and torque management matter. 98 RON only.
Why tune the TCU as well as the ECU on this build?
The factory torque limiters and shift points can't handle 551 Nm cleanly. The TCU calibration raises torque capacity, adjusts shift pressure, and firms up timing so the box doesn't hunt or slip under load.
Is this suitable for daily street use?
No. This tune is calibrated for closed-circuit and off-road competition use, not public roads. The torque output and boost level exceed factory design margins for street durability.
What fuel is required?
98 RON minimum. The calibration is mapped for Australian premium pump fuel and will not run safely on 95 or E10.
