RS3 Facelift — Stage 2 ECU & TCU Tune
- Power increased by 79 kW
- Torque improved by 103 Nm
- Enhanced intake flow efficiency
- Optimised transmission calibration
- Improved intercooler cooling capacity
- Reduced exhaust backpressure
The 2017 facelift RS3 responds well to airflow improvements, and this build proves the point. With a billet inlet manifold, carbon intake, upgraded intercooler and full catback exhaust, the five-cylinder had the breathing headroom to make proper use of a combined ECU and TCU calibration.
The result: 312 kilowatts and 533 Newton-metres at the wheels, up from 233 and 397 respectively. That's a 79 kW lift without touching the turbo or internals. The TCU tune sharpens shift behaviour and allows the drivetrain to hold gears under load, which suits the way these cars are used on track or private roads.
Stage 2 on this platform is about maximising what the factory hardware can do reliably. No heroics, just a solid base for closed-circuit work.
Is the factory turbo and fuelling system adequate for this output?
Yes. The standard turbo and fuel system on the RS3 facelift support this output with the breathing mods listed. No upgraded turbo or injectors were required.
Why tune the TCU as well as the ECU?
The TCU calibration adjusts shift points, torque limiters and clutch pressure to match the extra torque. Without it, the gearbox will pull timing or refuse to hold gears under full load.
What fuel is this calibration designed for?
Fuel type was not recorded with this file. Confirm with your Protunes account manager whether it's a 98 RON or flex-fuel calibration before supply.
