Commodore VF — Stage 1 ECU Tune
- 29% power increase
- 20% torque increase
- Improved fuel efficiency
- Enhanced airflow optimization
- Optimized exhaust flow
- More responsive throttle response
This 2014 VF SV6 came in with a complete hardware package already fitted: over-radiator intake and exhaust, upgraded fuel pump, larger injectors, wastegate solenoid, and drive-by-wire optimisation. The factory ECU had headroom to make proper use of it all on 98 RON.
The file brings power from 112 kW to 144 kW at the wheels, with torque lifting from 187 Nm to 224 Nm. Throttle response sharpens up noticeably with the DBW rework, and the fuelling tables track cleanly through the midrange now that the pump and injectors are properly calibrated in.
This one's classed as Stage 1 because it's still on the factory ECU and doesn't need any additional hardware beyond what was already installed. Good foundation for a daily that pulls harder without fuss.
Does this tune require the exact same hardware to achieve these numbers?
Yes. The file is calibrated for the combination of over-radiator intake and exhaust, upgraded fuel pump, larger injectors, and wastegate solenoid. Missing components will produce different results and may cause running issues.
What ECU platform is this tune written for?
This is a factory ECU calibration. The file is modified from the original Holden flash and doesn't require a standalone or piggyback unit.
Is 98 RON mandatory for this file?
Yes. The tune is calibrated specifically for 98 RON fuel. Running lower octane will likely cause knock and reduce power, and the ECU will pull timing to protect itself.
