This VE SS started as a clean 204 kW factory L98 and came to us for calibration after the fitment of a Vortech side-mount supercharger and full supporting hardware. The workshop recorded 308 kW at the wheels following calibration, with torque lifting from 274 Nm to 394 Nm on 98 RON. Boost held at 0.41 bar across the pull.
The fuelling was dialled in using upgraded injectors and a high-pressure fuel pump, with boost control managed through solenoid and wastegate hardware. Factory ECU platform responds well to forced induction when the supporting mods are in place. This setup is intended for closed-circuit competition use.
We tuned for reliability at these power levels, keeping AFRs conservative and timing pulled back where needed under boost. The L98 block handles this output comfortably when the calibration respects the platform's limits.
Is the factory L98 block safe at 308 kW at the wheels?
Yes, when calibration is conservative and the supporting mods are all in place. We kept fuelling rich where needed and avoided excessive timing under boost to protect the internals.
What boost pressure is this tune running?
0.41 bar, controlled through the boost solenoids and wastegate. The tune manages boost delivery and fuelling to suit the Vortech side-mount setup.
Can this calibration run on regular unleaded?
No. This file is built specifically for 98 RON. Running lower octane fuel at these boost and timing levels will cause detonation and engine damage.
