Falcon FG — Stage 1 ECU & TCU Tune
- 48% power increase to 334kW
- Enhanced boost control via wastegate solenoid optimization
- Improved throttle response through drive-by-wire calibration
- High-pressure fuel pump and injector optimization
- Torque delivery enhancement
- Increased boost pressure to 18 psi
The factory Barra is a solid foundation, but it leaves plenty on the table. This 2014 FG arrived with a front-mount intercooler and downpipe already fitted, so the brief was straightforward: make the most of the hardware without touching anything under the bonnet.
Both ECU and TCU were recalibrated to suit 98 RON, lifting output from 226 kW to 334 kW at the wheels and torque from 508 Nm to 539 Nm. Peak boost sits at 1.24 bar. The TCU file improves shift behaviour under load and keeps the ZF online through the new power curve.
For circuit work or off-road competition, this is a proper step up from stock without the expense of internals or a bigger turbo. The intercooler does its job in warmer months, and the tune holds timing cleanly through the midrange.
Is this tune safe on the factory turbo and internals?
Yes, this Stage 1 file is calibrated for the factory turbo and internals with the addition of a front-mount intercooler and downpipe. Boost is set at 1.24 bar, which sits within safe limits for the standard rotating assembly on 98 RON.
Does the TCU tune change shift points?
The TCU calibration adjusts shift pressure, timing, and torque limits to suit the increased output. It firms up shifts under load and raises the torque threshold so the ZF doesn't pull timing or drop gears unexpectedly.
What's required to run this file?
A front-mount intercooler, downpipe, and 98 RON fuel minimum. No other hardware changes are needed for this Stage 1 tune.
