ZB Commodore Stage 2: exhaust flow and factory ECU recal

The ZB platform responds well when you pair an upgraded intake, high-flow downpipe and efficient cat with a proper factory ECU recalibration. This one was supplied on 98 RON and delivered 141 kW at the wheels, up from 120.5 kW stock—a 20.5 kW gain. Torque lifted from 206 Nm to 274 Nm, which is where you feel it most on the road.

The Varex muffler keeps things civil when needed, and the calibration makes use of the improved flow without pushing into areas that need hardware upgrades. Solid result for a Stage 2 street file on the factory ECU.

Common questions
What's the torque jump worth in real-world driving?

68 Nm is a noticeable step. Mid-range pull improves and overtaking feels more decisive without needing to drop back a gear as often.

Does this need anything beyond the mods listed?

No. Intake, downpipe, cat and muffler are sufficient for the calibration supplied. Factory ECU, 98 RON pump fuel.

Is this a conservative tune or closer to the edge?

It's a sensible Stage 2 file. The gains reflect the hardware fitted, and it's dialled in for 98 RON street use without chasing peak numbers.
