Commodore VZ — Stage 3 ECU Tune
- 57% power increase
- 40% torque increase
- Improved boost control via wastegate solenoid
- Enhanced fuel system management
- Drive-by-wire optimization
- Low boost strategy for reliability
This VZ Commodore runs a full forced-induction package built around a Borg Warner turbo and matching hardware for closed-circuit use. The supporting gear includes a high-capacity 525 lph fuel pump, 1000cc injectors, full intercooler setup, and a free-flowing 3.5-to-3-inch exhaust. Factory ECU was recalibrated to manage the turbo system and larger injectors, with auto transmission mapping revised to suit the added output.
The result is 275 kW at the wheels, up 100 kW from the stock L98 baseline, with 408 Nm torque. Calibration work focused on fuel delivery, ignition timing, and ensuring the auto transmission shifts cleanly under boost without hanging onto gears or hunting. The file is tailored for 98 RON and intended for off-road or competition use.
Can the factory ECU handle this level of modification?
Yes. The factory platform can be recalibrated to manage a turbo build of this scale, provided the supporting hardware—fuel system, ignition, and exhaust—is up to spec. The automatic transmission also requires a remap to handle the added torque and power.
What's involved in the auto transmission remap for a turbo build?
The transmission calibration adjusts shift points, line pressure, and torque converter lockup to suit the new power and torque curve. This prevents slipping, harsh shifts, or holding gears too long under boost.
Is this file suitable for street use?
No. This is a Stage 3 turbo build intended for off-road and closed-circuit competition only.
