Commodore VX — Stage 1 ECU & TCU Tune
- Improved Power
- Improved Torque
- Boost Control optimization
- Drive By Wire calibration
This VX was set up with a Proflow intake manifold and tuned Mafless on the factory ECU. The calibration ditches the MAF sensor in favour of speed density, which cleans up throttle response and removes a restriction in the intake path. Useful when you're running a non-standard intake configuration.
The tune also includes a TCU file to sharpen shift behaviour and improve torque converter lockup timing. Final result was 170 kilowatts at the wheels and 328 newton metres, recorded on the workshop's dyno. Both ECU and TCU files are included in the package.
This is a software-only Stage 1 tune on 98 RON. No other hardware changes were required beyond the manifold already fitted.
What does a Mafless tune actually do?
It recalibrates the factory ECU to calculate airflow using manifold pressure and inlet air temperature instead of the mass airflow sensor. This allows you to remove the MAF from the intake path and tune more accurately when running a modified intake setup.
Does the TCU file change shift points?
Yes. The TCU calibration adjusts shift timing, firmness, and torque converter lockup behaviour to suit the revised engine output and throttle map.
Can I run this tune with the standard intake manifold?
No. This file is calibrated specifically for the Proflow manifold fitted to this vehicle. You'll need the same or equivalent manifold for the tune to run properly.
