LK5 Colorado Stage 2: 94 kW and 437 Nm with fuel and boost upgrades

This 2012 Colorado received the full Stage 2 treatment: upgraded fuel injectors, high-pressure fuel pump, boost solenoids with electronic control, and drive-by-wire recalibration. The factory ECU was mapped to suit the supporting hardware, delivering 94 kW at the wheels and 437 Nm—a 23 kW gain over stock.

The brief was clear: get more out of the LK5 without straying into the grey zone. Fuel delivery was the first bottleneck, so injectors and pump went in to support the extra fuelling. Boost control freed up the top end without overcooking the small factory turbo. Drive-by-wire response was smoothed out in the process.

This file balances usable torque across the range with a bit more punch for overtaking and loaded hill work. The LK5 doesn't rev hard, but there's now enough shove to make life easier when you need it.

Common questions
Why upgrade both injectors and the high-pressure fuel pump on a Stage 2 file?

The factory fuel system on the LK5 is sized for stock output. To safely support the additional fuelling required for 437 Nm, both injectors and the high-pressure pump were upgraded to maintain proper rail pressure and pulse width under load.

What does the boost solenoid upgrade actually do here?

It allows tighter electronic control of boost delivery. The factory solenoid is mechanically limited, so swapping it out gives the ECU better authority to ramp boost progressively and hold target pressure across the load range.

Is this file safe for daily towing and highway work?

Yes. The supporting hardware was installed to handle the tune's demands, and the calibration is conservative enough for loaded work in summer heat. Just keep up with servicing and monitor coolant and oil temps on long hauls.
