GLE350D — Stage 1 ECU Tune
- Improved Power output
- Improved Torque delivery
- Enhanced boost control characteristics
- Optimized fuel injection timing
- Better throttle response
The 642 engine responds well to software when you target the low and midrange. This Stage 1 file lifts the GLE350D from 126 kW to 146 kW at the wheels, with torque climbing from 470 Nm to 517 Nm. The power gain is useful, but the extra torque is where the difference shows up — overtaking on country roads and merging onto highways becomes noticeably easier.
Calibration covers boost control, wastegate solenoids, drive-by-wire mapping, high-pressure fuel pump scaling, and injector timing. Factory ECU, no hardware changes required. The tune keeps fuelling conservative and stays inside factory component margins, so it suits workshops chasing reliable daily driver gains without opening up the engine bay.
Is this tune safe for a vehicle still under workshop warranty coverage?
Stage 1 software works within factory hardware limits, but any ECU modification may void manufacturer warranty. Workshop discretion applies depending on the customer's warranty status and risk tolerance.
Does the torque increase affect the gearbox or drivetrain longevity?
The 47 Nm torque increase is modest and well within the tolerance of the factory transmission and drivetrain on this platform. We've seen these run reliably in daily use when serviced properly.
What fuel does this file require?
Standard diesel from the bowser. No premium or additive requirement for this calibration.
