C63 AMG — Stage 1 ECU Tune
- 37% increase in power output
- 11% increase in torque delivery
- Increased engine response
- Improved throttle mapping
- Enhanced fuel system efficiency
The M156 in the W204 C63 is one of the last naturally aspirated AMG engines, but this particular unit came to us as a later supercharged variant — a less common factory option that responds well to calibration.
This Stage 1 file focused on optimising boost control and wastegate behaviour, refining drive-by-wire response, and tuning the high-pressure fuel pump and injector maps for 98 RON. Workshop supplied dyno figures showed 215 kW at the wheels, up from 157 kW — a gain of 58 kW with no hardware changes. Torque lifted from 391 Nm to 435 Nm.
The calibration keeps the factory ECU and all OEM hardware intact, making it a straightforward flash for workshops. Throttle response is sharper, and the engine pulls harder through the midrange without sacrificing driveability.
Is this a supercharged M156 variant?
Yes. While most M156 engines are naturally aspirated, this 2009 C63 came factory fitted with forced induction. The tune optimises boost control and wastegate behaviour on the existing hardware.
What fuel is required for this calibration?
98 RON pump fuel. The high-pressure fuel pump and injector maps have been tuned specifically for Australian premium unleaded.
Does this file work with the factory ECU?
Correct. This is a reflash of the factory ECU — no standalone or piggyback required. All sensors and OEM functionality remain intact.
