RS3 8V flex-fuel build on Syvecs, Xona turbo and full E85 system

This 2018 RS3 was built for closed-circuit use with a Xona turbocharger, port injection, upgraded high-pressure fuel pump, and a complete E85 fuel system. The Syvecs platform gave us the flexibility to manage flex-fuel operation properly and dial in drive-by-wire response to match the new turbo and fuelling.

The result is 159 kW at the wheels and 480 Nm, with TCU calibration to handle the torque and keep shifts firm under load. E85 availability is improving in the metro areas, and the flex-fuel setup means the car can still run on 98 RON when needed.

Both ECU and TCU files are set up for the hardware installed. Boost control and injector staging are mapped for the upgraded solenoid and port injection. This is a track-focused build, not a street proposition.

Common questions
Why does the power figure seem lower than expected for a Stage 3 RS3?

This is the result as recorded at the wheels by the workshop. Wheel figures vary widely depending on dyno type, correction factor, and conditions. The 480 Nm of torque and full E85 fuelling reflect a properly developed closed-circuit build.

Does the flex-fuel tune require any driver input when switching between E85 and 98 RON?

The Syvecs platform reads ethanol content via sensor and adjusts fuelling and timing automatically. No manual switching required, though performance will differ between fuels.

Is the TCU tune necessary for this setup?

Yes. The factory TCU calibration isn't designed for this torque level or turbo response. The updated file adjusts shift pressure, timing, and torque limiters to suit the build.
