Focus RS — Stage 2 ECU Tune
- Torque gain of 70 Nm
- Enhanced drivability
- Optimized supporting modifications
- Custom calibration for existing bolt-on components
This Stage 2 file pairs a full exhaust system and cold air intake with a custom ECU calibration to shift the power curve where the RS platform responds best. Power lifts from 190 kW to 200 kW at the wheels, but the real story is torque: 365 Nm to 450 Nm, which changes how the car pulls from mid-range onward.
The calibration work focused on fuelling and timing to support the freer-breathing hardware without chasing headline figures. It's a sensible step for a workshop client who wants more usable grunt without stepping into built-motor or hybrid-turbo territory.
Dyno results were supplied by the workshop after validation. The file suits enthusiast road use on 98 RON, with headroom kept conservative for Australian summer heat and varied fuel quality.
Why is the torque gain so much larger than the power gain?
The factory tune holds torque back to protect the driveline. With supporting hardware in place, the calibration unlocks midrange torque while keeping peak power modest and safe for the OEM block and turbo.
Is this file suitable for daily driving?
Yes. The tune is written for 98 RON pump fuel with conservative margins. It's responsive and usable on the street, not a peaky competition file.
What's required before loading this Stage 2 file?
Full exhaust system and cold air intake as listed. The calibration expects those flow improvements to be present or it won't run as intended.
