This 2015 A45 AMG moved to full Stage 3 specification with a ProCharge Stage 2 turbo, downpipe, FX-170 high-pressure fuel pump, and cold air intake. The calibration addressed fuelling right through the range to support the larger turbo and maintain drivability under the additional load.
The result was 267 kW at the wheels with 615 Nm of torque, supplied by the workshop on their dyno. The work focused on ensuring the AWD drivetrain managed the increased output cleanly, particularly under sustained load where heat and fuel pressure become critical. Built for closed-circuit competition use.
We revised ignition timing, fuel mapping, and torque limiters to suit the new hardware. The FX-170 pump was essential here—factory fuelling couldn't support the flow demand past mid-range.
Is the factory high-pressure fuel pump adequate for this turbo upgrade?
No. The build required an FX-170 high-pressure fuel pump to meet flow demand. The factory pump won't support the fuelling strategy needed for a ProCharge Stage 2 turbo.
