The M133 in the CLA45 responds well to a software-only approach when the engine and gearbox have been properly serviced beforehand. This one came through with fresh fluids in both, so the file could lean into the headroom Mercedes left on the table.
The combined ECU and TCU remap lifted output from 207 kW to 223.6 kW at the wheels, with torque climbing from 490 Nm to 530 Nm. The transmission file sharpens shift behaviour under load and holds gears longer when you're committed, which suits the dual-clutch well.
No hardware required for Stage 1, and the workshop-supplied dyno result confirms the gains are usable from low down. A solid return for a file-only job on 98 RON.
Why does this tune require both engine and transmission services?
Fresh engine and transmission fluids ensure the calibration can safely exploit the increased torque and shift pressure without stressing worn oil or degraded friction material. Both were completed before the tune was supplied.
What does the TCU remap actually change on the dual-clutch?
The transmission file adjusts shift points, hold patterns under load, and clutch pressure to match the extra torque. It keeps the gearbox responsive without hunting or flaring between ratios.
Is this tune safe on 98 RON pump fuel?
Yes. Stage 1 is calibrated for Australian 98 RON with no additional hardware required.
