A45 AMG — Stage 2 ECU & TCU Tune
- 239kW power output at the wheels
- enhanced 4WD launch control delivery
- sharper and more responsive gear shifts
- elevated transmission line pressure
- surpassed clutch torque limitations
- improved overall driving responsiveness
The 2016 A45 AMG responded well to a sensible Stage 2 approach: ANTS intake modification and downpipe upgrade on the engine side, paired with full transmission tuning to handle the extra load. Power lifted from 200 kW to 239 kW at the wheels, with torque climbing from 535 Nm to 620 Nm.
The TCU work is where this file earns its keep. Line pressure elevation and clutch torque limit removal let the seven-speed twin-clutch hold the added torque without slipping, while launch control revisions suit closed-circuit use. The 4WD driveline sees the benefit of both halves working together.
A solid foundation for further development if the customer decides to go harder down the track, but plenty usable as it sits for weekend competition duty.
Why is transmission tuning necessary on these cars?
The factory TCU calibration limits clutch torque capacity and line pressure for durability. Once you're adding 85 Nm of torque, you need to remove those limits and raise line pressure or the clutches will slip under load.
Is this a safe daily driver tune?
This build is intended for off-road and closed-circuit competition use. The transmission changes and launch control revisions are tailored to that environment.
What fuel does this calibration require?
