Mustang GT — Stage 1 ECU Tune
- Increased power delivery by 13kW
- Enhanced torque output by 9Nm
- Improved throttle response
- Crisp and clean power characteristics
- Refined engine calibration
The 2016 Mustang GT arrived with the revised Coyote making respectable factory power, but the factory calibration leaves plenty on the table once you open up the intake and exhaust. This one came in with a K&N cold air intake and long tube headers already fitted, so the file was written to suit those modifications and take advantage of the improved breathing.
The result was 275 kW at the wheels, up from 262 kW stock—a solid 13 kW gain with torque climbing to 434 Nm. The factory ECU responds well to recalibration on 98 RON, and the tune cleans up the fuelling and timing to match the hardware without asking for anything more invasive. A straightforward Stage 1 outcome for a naturally aspirated platform.
Does this require any hardware changes beyond the intake and headers?
No. This is a Stage 1 software-only tune written for the factory ECU, assuming the intake and headers are already fitted. No forced induction or internal changes required.
What fuel does this calibration need?
It's calibrated for 98 RON pump fuel, which is the standard high-octane offering in Australia.
How much power did it make at the wheels?
275 kW at the wheels, up from 262 kW stock, with torque at 434 Nm. The workshop dyno recorded a 13 kW gain.
