This 2018 A4 B9 came in running the factory calibration, and the customer wanted better throttle response and midrange pull without touching hardware. Stage 1 on the EA888 platform is straightforward: we adjusted boost control, wastegate solenoid duty, drive-by-wire mapping, high-pressure fuel pump request, and injector pulse width to suit 98 RON.
The result was 99 kW at the wheels, up from 76 kW, with torque lifting from 216 Nm to 262 Nm. That's 23 kW gained purely through recalibration, giving the car noticeably more flexibility in everyday driving without asking anything of the hardware.
It's a sensible step for workshops wanting to offer a clean Stage 1 file that stays within the factory turbo and fuelling envelope. The tune keeps the powertrain compliant and reliable on pump fuel.
