Stage 2 EcoBoost Focus ST calibration for 98 RON pump fuel

This file was developed for a 2016 Focus ST running a Stage 2 setup on 98 RON. The customer's brief was modest power uplift with a strong emphasis on mid-range torque and drivability for street use. The factory ECU was recalibrated to support upgraded wastegate solenoids, revised boost control, drive-by-wire mapping, high-pressure fuel pump, and uprated injectors.

Dyno results came back at 148 kW at the wheels, up 5.7 kW on the baseline run. Torque lifted from 314.4 Nm to 459 Nm, which is where the real difference sits. The torque curve fills out early and holds well through the midrange, making it far more responsive on the road without chasing headline numbers.

Calibration focused on fuelling accuracy, wastegate duty refinement, and throttle response to keep the factory drivetrain happy under the extra load. A sensible step up for a daily-driven hot hatch on pump fuel.

Why is the power gain modest compared to the torque increase?

The EcoBoost platform responds well to fuelling and boost changes in the low-to-mid range, where torque climbs sharply. Power is a function of torque over time, and this tune prioritises usable midrange over peak numbers. The 5.7 kW gain reflects a conservative approach suited to street driving on 98 RON.

What supporting mods are required for this Stage 2 file?
