GLE63S AMG — Stage 1 ECU Tune
- 8% power increase to 325kW
- 22% torque increase to 850Nm
- Improved power delivery across operating range
- Enhanced torque characteristics
- Optimized boost control strategy
- Refined fuel system responsiveness
The M157 twin-turbo V8 responds well to software-only tuning, and this GLE63S is a good example. Factory calibration leaves plenty on the table, particularly in the mid-range where the torque curve flattens out earlier than it needs to.
This Stage 1 file lifts power from 300.9 kW to 325 kW at the wheels, with torque climbing from 695.9 Nm to 850 Nm. The calibration adjusts boost control, wastegate solenoid duty, high-pressure fuel pump delivery, injector scaling, and throttle mapping to suit 98 RON pump fuel. No hardware changes required.
The torque gain is the story here — 154 Nm more gives the big GLE much stronger overtaking punch without losing drivability. Suitable for road use on premium unleaded.
Does the factory transmission cope with 850 Nm?
The 7G-Tronic gearbox in the GLE63S is built to handle high torque from factory. We've seen good durability at this output level, though regular fluid changes are always recommended on high-performance transmissions.
What does the tune actually change in the ECU?
This file modifies boost control maps, wastegate solenoid targets, high-pressure fuel pump delivery, injector scaling, and drive-by-wire throttle response. All calibration is done within factory sensor and hardware tolerances for a Stage 1 tune on 98 RON.
Is this safe on pump 98 in summer heat?
Yes. The calibration is conservative enough for Australian summer conditions on 98 RON. Timing and fuel delivery are mapped to keep cylinder pressures and EGTs within safe margins, even on warmer days.
