Focus RS — Stage 2 ECU Tune
- 28% power increase to 156kW
- 22% torque increase to 395Nm
- Enhanced boost control response
- Improved fuel system efficiency
- Optimized drive-by-wire mapping
This 2018 Focus RS came in for a proper Stage 2 setup after the customer sorted the hardware side with upgraded fuel injectors and a high pressure fuel pump. The EcoBoost platform responds well once you've addressed the fuel system, and with boost control via revised wastegate solenoid duty and drive-by-wire optimisation dialled in, we've landed at 156 kW at the wheels and 395 Nm. That's 34 kW up from the factory 122 kW baseline.
The factory ECU gave us enough headroom to push timing and fuelling appropriately for 98 RON without running into the hard limits you'd see on a stock fuel system. Intended for closed-circuit use where the extra midrange torque and top-end pull make a real difference.
Does this tune require E85, or is 98 RON enough?
This file is calibrated for 98 RON pump fuel. The upgraded injectors and HPFP provide the fuelling margin needed without stepping up to ethanol.
What's the actual drivetrain on the 2018 Focus RS?
The RS is AWD from the factory. This vehicle's listing shows FWD, which may indicate a drivetrain change or data entry variance—confirm with the supplying workshop if drivetrain spec matters for your application.
Will the factory clutch hold this torque level?
At 395 Nm you're well beyond factory clutch capacity on the RS. Budget for an upgraded clutch if the customer plans to use the available torque regularly.
